My name is Marty Harwood-Edes and I am in the business of empowering women of all ages and backgrounds.  I am one Asheville's only in-home personal trainers with an advanced certification in weight training for women and a love of outdoor activity.

I have worked professionally in the outdoors leading groups (children, teens & adults) for more than 17 years.

I continually stay active in my community by running in local fundraisers and coaching for an after school run club as well as the Girls on the Run program.  I teach a Health & Wellness, Wilderness Survival or Intro to Running class to middle school students at a local charter school and run their PE program for grades K-5.  I am constantly looking for new ways to empower women and bring fitness-minded females together. 

My philosophy for personal training is just that, personal.  I come to you, your home, work, or favorite park.  I bring the tools we'll need and together we'll design a program that works for your unique life.  All you have to bring are the shoes!

I have had my own struggles with weight and fitness in the past.  I've learned to overcome them and achieve my healthy goal weight.  I am way more than a traditional trainer because I know firsthand what it takes to create change. I believe we need to take a holistic approach to your fitness that includes cardio, resistance, stretching, as well as lifestyle changes, nutrition, and a connection to the environment.  We'll start small and work up to a do-able long-term lifestyle that should leave you lean and healthy.
